Smiling Ron Potter was one of the first to turn in his Membership Dues at the April 6, 2015 meeting. Ron AND his +wife both served as Presidents of the Olde Moon Historical Society at one time!
Ron Potter is an active volunteer also of MCA-TV. He's been producing historical videos for over 30 years, as he's always been interested in videography and photography. A proud U.S. veteran, Ron was the first person to shoot the entire Memorial Day parade in Coraopolis. He's done films on "Our Shared River Heritage" and "Preserving History," a documentary on the rivers that not only ran through the towns to separate them, but once brought the commnities together. Ron's first work for MCA-TV was "The Last Passenger Run on the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad." Ron road the train from Glenwillard into the city of Pittsburgh, and shot footage of the passing scenes and interviewed passengers and the engineer about their experience on the locomotive. The train let the passengers off at the station which today is the GRAND CONCOURSE!

Thank you Tom and Harry. You helped make the great event of our 501.c3 official news even more special with your hospitality for the evening.
We have many ideas how to make our MTHS/Friends of Moon Township Historical Scoeity work to increase our presence in Moon Township, working with our partners to further open up a "sense of belonging"/"love" for our township by:
Strengthening our partnerships with our local schools, other non-profits, businesses, and mainly the people in our CommUNITY.
Providing more first-class events.
Establish MTHS Scholarships.Grants
Help keep our community history vibrant an d unique, and more attractive to a larger audience, therefore being a conduit for continuity, but also a change channel.
We hope to help make our citizens more conscious, committed and creative by:
1. Creating an "investment" friendly environment with our community partners.
2. Continuing our support of our "Strategic Investments" in key areas:
3. Providing awards to teachers/individual homeowners and businesses who showcase/preserve our valuable resources.
